Congratulations to Mayor Ed Murray, Seattle Department of Transportation Director Scott Kubly, Seattle City Council Transportation Committee members Tom Rasmussen (Chair), Jean Godden, and Mike O’Brien for their bold leadership and vision that will soon make Roosevelt Way NE safer for everyone.
You can thank them all on this letter!
How does this project make Roosevelt Way NE safer?
- Improved crosswalks, curb extensions, curb ramps, and sidewalks will ensure everyone is able to walk safely along and across Roosevelt Way NE.
- Bus islands and in-lane stops will give people access to efficient transit connections in this dense business and residential corridor, from NE Seattle to the UW, and beyond.
- Critical safety upgrades to the existing bicycle facility will transform Roosevelt Way NE from one of the most dangerous streets for people biking to one of Seattle’s safest.
This advocacy project has been a cooperative effort of University Greenways, Seattle Neighborhood Greenways, Cascade Bicycle Club, and Feet First.
