Big Moment for the Future of Biking

Every Seattle neighborhood deserves bike routes that are safe, comfortable, and convenient for people of all ages and abilities. Through advocacy, we’ve made tremendous progress in the city, from building the downtown bike network to creating safe routes to bike to school.
Today we continue to work with allies around the city to ensure that the proposed Seattle Transportation Levy invests at least $114 million over the next 8 years for bike routes citywide and prioritizes investments in underserved communities like the Rainier Valley. Key bike routes include:
- A flat, convenient route in the Rainier Valley on Rainier Ave S or MLK Way Jr S.
- A connection between the new waterfront trail and the Elliott Bay Trail.
- A safe route between Beacon Hill and West Seattle with connections to Georgetown and South Park.
- A route from Beacon Hill through Capitol Hill to the University District on Beacon Ave, 12th and 10th.
- Routes to light rail stations on Roosevelt Way NE and N 130th.
- A safe bike route over the ship canal in Ballard.
